Raashii Khanna Opens Up About Yodha’s Box Office Reception and OTT Challenge

Raashii Khanna recently addressed the lackluster performance of her latest film, Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra. The action-packed thriller hit screens last month but failed to meet expectations. In an interview with India Today, Raashii discussed the difficulty of attracting audiences to theaters when they know the movie will eventually stream on OTT platforms. Reflecting on Yodha’s box office earnings, Raashii acknowledged the varied opinions surrounding films.

She expressed, “Some may love it, while others may not. There will always be diverse opinions, but of course, we aim for widespread appreciation upon release. The challenge lies in enticing viewers to cinemas, especially now that everyone anticipates OTT releases. This challenge is commonly faced by many. I myself sometimes opt for streaming due to my busy schedule. However, I understand that people are generally occupied nowadays, making it challenging to draw them to theaters. I don’t believe Yodha is a subpar film; it just has its own journey. We learn from each experience and move forward to the next project. That’s simply how it goes.”

Raashii Khanna expressed her joy at the positive reception her work has garnered from audiences. She highlighted her happiness at seeing herself on the big screen in Hindi films once again and expressed gratitude for the favorable reactions she has received. She emphasized the importance of delivering her best performance and ensuring that audiences enjoy her role in the film. Raashii stated, “You love the fact that it has received love because that’s what you work so hard for. But apart from that, my job is always to deliver my best and to see that the audience is enjoying my part as well. Because if a film works, but you don’t work, then that’s sad in a way. So I’m really happy with the reactions I’m getting. I’m really happy that people are really loving me, coming back into Hindi films, and seeing me on the big screen. I was also very, very happy to see myself on the big screen in Hindi. This is amazing. It was a very nice moment and a very nice feeling that I had.”

According to Sacnilk.com, the film has grossed Rs 34.4 crores in three weeks since its release. Yodha was jointly produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and Prime Video India.
