Imtiaz Ali, the well-known Bollywood director, is directing the upcoming OTT release “Amar Singh Chamkila,” starring Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh. The film features music composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. Following the unveiling of the songs “Isha Mitaye” and “Naram Kaalja,” the third song from the movie, titled “Tu Kya Jane,” has been revealed, with Yashika Sikka lending her voice to this track.
Parineeti Chopra portrays the character of Amarjot Kaur in Amar Singh Chamkila. This song appears to center around her blossoming romance with Chamkila. Check out the song here:
This morning, Imtiaz Ali shared a post announcing the release of the song. Yashika, who has sung the song “Tu Kya Jane,” expressed her gratitude towards Ali for choosing her to lend her voice to this iconic film. “Thank you, Sir, for selecting my voice for this iconic film. It still feels surreal! And what a moment you have captured here,” wrote Yashika. In response, Imtiaz Ali replied, “I loved your voice for this song from the word go. Best wishes to you :)”
In the 80s, Amar Singh Chamkila, the biggest music star of Punjab, attained such immense fame that no one could rival him. Despite losing his life to bullets, his journey to becoming a shining sun remained unstoppable. Chamkila dominated the Punjabi music world, selling the maximum number of songs at that time. Thousands of people would gather at Chamkila’s concerts to listen to him and his wife, Amarjot. Although Chamkila passed away at the age of 27, his melodies will resonate once again in the film Amar Singh Chamkila. This film is set to be released on Netflix on April 12th.
