Odisha CM Unveils “Nutana Unnata Abhilasha Odisha” Scholarship Scheme for UG, PG Students

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the "Nutana Unnata Abhilasha Odisha" scholarship scheme, aimed at empowering undergraduate and postgraduate students in the state. This initiative is a significant step towards supporting the educational aspirations of young students and ensuring their continued academic progress. The scholarship scheme, inaugurated through a video-conference by Chief Minister Patnaik, signifies the government's commitment to providing financial assistance to deserving students. Under the scheme, eligible students from various categories, including General, OBC, SC/ST, and 'Nirman Shramik', will receive different scholarship amounts. General and OBC students will receive Rs 9,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, while SC/ST and 'Nirman Shramik' students will receive Rs 10,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. Senior official VK Pandian, who participated in the launch event held in Sambalpur, Angul, and Deogarh, interacted with students from 57 colleges. He emphasized that all eligible students would receive the scholarship amount directly in their bank accounts by March 5. The implementation of this scholarship scheme is a crucial step towards promoting inclusive education and addressing financial barriers that hinder students' access to higher education. By providing financial support, the Odisha government aims to enable students to pursue their academic aspirations and contribute to their personal and professional development. Furthermore, Pandian highlighted the government's upcoming initiative, the "Nabin Odisha Magic Card," a points-based smart card designed to engage and empower youth in various aspects of academic, personality, and skill development. This innovative card will serve as a "passport to prosperity" for students, providing access to a wide range of facilities and opportunities such as travel concessions, online academic courses, tuition classes, employment opportunities, and more.
