Prime Minister Narendra Modi immersed himself in the serene surroundings of Kaziranga National Park during his visit to Assam on Saturday. The UNESCO World Heritage Site offered PM Modi an opportunity to experience its breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife.
PM Modi’s itinerary at Kaziranga included memorable moments such as elephant and jeep safaris, where he had firsthand encounters with the park’s majestic inhabitants. He interacted with Van Durga, a dedicated team of women forest guards who play a crucial role in safeguarding the park’s natural treasures.
During his visit, PM Modi delighted in feeding sugarcane to elephants named Lakhimai, Pradyumna, and Phoolmai, highlighting the rich biodiversity of Kaziranga beyond its renowned rhinoceros population.
Expressing his admiration for Kaziranga’s natural splendor, PM Modi urged everyone to visit the park and experience its unparalleled beauty. He emphasized that every visit to Kaziranga enriches the soul and fosters a deep connection with the heart of Assam.
Kaziranga National Park, often hailed as Assam’s crown jewel, is renowned for its thriving ecosystem, which includes the largest habitat of rhinoceros, over 600 bird species, a flourishing dolphin population, and a significant tiger density.
As part of his Assam visit, PM Modi is set to address a mega public rally in Jorhat district. Tight security measures have been implemented ahead of the event, where PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for various projects valued at approximately ₹18,000 crore. Additionally, he will unveil the statue of the legendary Ahom warrior and commander, Lachit Barphukan, at Lachit Maidam in Jorhat’s Hoollongapar.
PM Modi’s visit to Kaziranga National Park not only underscores the significance of conservation efforts but also highlights the natural wealth and cultural heritage of Assam.
