PM Modi Unveils ₹5,000 Crore Agri-Economy and Hazratbal Shrine Project in Srinagar

In his first visit to the Kashmir Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a series of development projects in Srinagar. The event, named ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir,’ took place at Bakshi Stadium, where PM Modi addressed the public.

PM Modi inaugurated the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, a ₹5,000 crore initiative aimed at boosting the agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he unveiled projects worth over ₹1,400 crore for the tourism sector, including the integrated development of the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar.

During the event, PM Modi distributed appointment orders to 1,000 new government recruits and interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes. He also launched tourism facilities in Meghalaya, Bihar, and Rajasthan, and introduced the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024’ initiative to gauge the nation’s pulse on tourism.

The public rally served as part of the BJP’s election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. PM Modi expressed the party’s goal of securing 370 seats and beyond for the NDA alliance.

This visit marks PM Modi’s continued efforts to highlight the government’s welfare schemes and their impact on beneficiaries across the country.
