The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has revealed its list of candidates for all 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. The announcement was made at the ‘samadhi’ of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in Kadapa district.
Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh unveiled the names of the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, while Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao did the same for the Assembly polls. Notable candidates include B Jhansi Laxmi for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, G Uma Bala for Narasapuram, and V Vijayasai Reddy for Nellore. Incumbent MP Y S Avinash Reddy is set to contest from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.
The release of the candidate list was highly anticipated, with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expected to make the announcement himself. The decision to unveil the list at Idupulapaya reflects the party’s strategic approach ahead of the elections.
Speculation is rife about potential changes in constituency in-charges, particularly with the BJP’s alliance with the TDP-Jana Sena. Meanwhile, the BJP has also released its second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, featuring prominent leaders from various states.
The unveiling of the candidate list sets the stage for an intense electoral battle in Andhra Pradesh, as political parties gear up for the upcoming polls.
