Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has rebuffed Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray offer to leave the BJP and join the opposition in Maharashtra, calling it “immature and ridiculous.” Thackeray had extended the invitation to Gadkari after expressing concerns over his absence from the BJP’s first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Gadkari, a respected figure in Indian politics, emphasized that there was no need for Thackeray to worry about BJP leaders, stating that the ticket distribution process in the party follows a systematic approach.

Thackeray’s invitation to Gadkari came during a rally in Yavatmal, where he urged the Union Minister to join the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and assured him of a ministerial post with significant powers in the prospective government.

Responding to Thackeray remarks, Gadkari clarified that discussions regarding ticket distribution in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha polls were still ongoing. He criticized Thackeray’s offer, labeling it as “immature” and asserting the BJP’s structured approach to candidate selection.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also criticized Thackeray invitation to Gadkari, likening it to an unrealistic proposition, highlighting that seat-sharing discussions between the BJP and its allies were yet to be finalized.
