PM Modi Unveils ₹12,800 Crore Projects in Champaran, Boosting Bihar Development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects worth ₹12,800 crore in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Wednesday. The projects, spanning rail, road, petroleum, and natural gas sectors, were unveiled at Bettiah.

Addressing a rally, PM Modi highlighted Bihar’s progress under the double-engine government of BJP at the Centre and Nitish Kumar-led NDA in the state. He emphasized Bihar’s historical significance and its potential for development.

Apologizing for his late arrival due to engagements in West Bengal, PM Modi praised Bengal’s enthusiasm and expressed his commitment to Bihar’s development. He noted the importance of Bihar’s progress for the vision of a developed India.

Various dignitaries including Governor Rajendra V Arlekar and Deputy CMs Samat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were present at the event. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was notably absent.

PM Modi inaugurated key projects including the Muzaffarpur-Motihari LPG pipeline and Indian Oil’s LPG bottling plant at Motihari. These projects aim to provide cleaner cooking fuel to Bihar and neighboring Nepal.

He also launched the city gas distribution project in multiple districts and grain-based ethanol projects, emphasizing the importance of sustainable energy solutions.

Railway projects inaugurated by PM Modi included doubling of rail lines and gauge conversion, as well as the foundation stone laying for doubling and electrification of rail lines and the redevelopment of Bettiah railway station.

Additionally, PM Modi flagged off two new trains on designated routes, further enhancing connectivity in the region.
