Breaking News: CBI Sweeps Satya Pal Malik’s Residences and Offices in Kiru Hydroelectric Project Probe
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted searches at the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik as part of a corruption investigation related to the Kiru Hydroelectric Power Project. Allegations of irregularities in the awarding of civil works contracts, worth Rs 2,200 crore, have surfaced, with claims that e-tendering guidelines were not followed. Malik has asserted that he was offered a bribe of Rs 300 crore to clear project-related files. The probe, triggered by a reference from the Jammu and Kashmir administration, targets former officials of Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL), a private company involved in the project. The search operation, spanning 30 locations, has yielded digital devices, documents, and cash exceeding Rs 21 lakh. This development sheds light on alleged corruption within the project's management and underscores the importance of transparent tendering processes in major infrastructure initiatives. #politicalgossip
