On Thursday, March 28, Lokesh Kanagaraj took to his official social media platform to unveil a striking poster featuring Rajinikanth from the highly anticipated film. Alongside the mesmerizing image, he excitedly announced that the official title teaser for ‘Thalaivar 171’ would be unveiled on April 22, 2024. This announcement has undoubtedly sparked immense anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting the revelation of the film’s title.

In the poster, Rajinikanth exudes a rugged yet stylish demeanor, adorned with handcuffs crafted from golden wristwatches, all set against a backdrop of mechanical components.
Meanwhile, in an interview, the director of ‘Leo’ discussed the upcoming film, stating that the ‘pre-production work is still ongoing’. He further mentioned, “The film is scheduled to commence shooting in June. The entire production process is anticipated to span around one to one-and-a-half years. Following the completion of ‘Thalaivar 171’, we will commence work on ‘Kaithi 2’ featuring Karthi, approximately a month later. Thus, the groundwork is steadily progressing.”
Tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 171’, this cinematic venture marks the inaugural collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Backed by Sun Pictures on a grand scale, the film was officially launched in September 2023.
