Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has underscored the growing success of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar health camps, revealing that more than 40,000 people, including 24,571 women, have availed free medical services under the initiative. Conducted across 228 locations statewide, the programme reflects the Goa government’s sustained commitment to preventive and inclusive healthcare.
Women’s Health at the Core of Public Policy
Highlighting women’s health as a central priority, Rane stated that the overwhelming participation of women demonstrates a rising awareness about preventive healthcare. Aligning the initiative with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, he emphasised that healthy women form the foundation of strong families and resilient communities.
The camps focus on early diagnosis, routine screenings, and health education—helping women take timely action and reducing long-term healthcare risks.
Expanding Access Through Community-Based Healthcare
The decentralised approach of organising camps at local levels has ensured access for citizens who may otherwise face barriers such as distance, cost, or lack of awareness. Services offered include general health check-ups, specialist consultations, diagnostics, and health counselling, all provided free of cost.
By bringing healthcare closer to communities, the initiative has strengthened trust in public health systems and encouraged routine medical check-ups.
Preventive Healthcare as a Long-Term Investment
Rane noted that the camps are not just about treatment, but about building a culture of prevention. Regular screenings help detect conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, and lifestyle-related illnesses at early stages, significantly reducing the burden on hospitals and families.
The camps also serve as platforms for spreading awareness about nutrition, hygiene, maternal health, and lifestyle management.

The Health Minister confirmed that the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar camps will continue until October 2, ensuring sustained outreach and deeper penetration across the state. This long-term approach reflects the government’s intent to institutionalise preventive healthcare rather than treat it as a one-time initiative.
