Anganwadi Initiatives in Goa Reinforce Nari Shakti and Community Wellbeing

Anganwadi centres across Goa continue to emerge as vital platforms for women’s empowerment and child welfare under the leadership of Vishwajit Rane. Through structured outreach programmes, these centres are fostering informed decision-making among women while addressing critical social and health-related issues at the grassroots level.

Recently organised Mother and Child Committee meetings provided a forum for meaningful discussions on domestic violence awareness, children’s growth monitoring, and the importance of a nutritious diet in ensuring overall development. These interactions aimed at equipping women with the knowledge required to safeguard their health and the wellbeing of their families.

Focus on Awareness and Informed Choices

During the meetings, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and supervisors engaged mothers in conversations around early childhood development, nutritional balance, and the long-term impact of healthy dietary practices. Emphasis was laid on regular growth monitoring to ensure early detection of developmental concerns.

Such initiatives play a crucial role in empowering women to take confident and informed decisions related to healthcare, nutrition, and family welfare.

Integrated Health Outreach

Medical and supervisory (MS) teams also guided beneficiaries on nutrition-related products, while Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) conducted informative sessions on maternal and child nutrition. Mothers were additionally informed about the upcoming Pulse Polio immunisation drive scheduled for December 14, 2025, for children in the 0–5 age group.

The integration of nutrition awareness with preventive healthcare initiatives reflects a comprehensive approach to community health.

Alignment with National Vision

These grassroots efforts are aligned with the broader vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Hon’ble Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annapurna Devi. By translating national priorities into local action, Anganwadi centres are ensuring that policy intent reaches beneficiaries effectively.

Building Stronger Communities

By creating safe spaces for dialogue, learning, and support, Anganwadis are strengthening Nari Shakti and reinforcing social resilience. Vishwajit Rane’s emphasis on community-centric governance continues to place women and children at the heart of developmental planning.

Together, these initiatives are contributing to the creation of a healthier, more empowered, and socially aware Goa.
