According to officials, the fire broke out in the resort’s generator room during the morning hours, triggering immediate safety protocols that ensured all guests were evacuated without any injuries or loss of life. The incident occurred in one of Goa’s busiest tourism corridors, raising concerns about safety preparedness in high-occupancy commercial establishments.
Generator Fire Triggered by Suspected Electrical Fault
Sources indicated that the fire originated from two large diesel generators installed at the resort, reportedly due to overloading. The flames spread rapidly within the generator room, destroying both units before they could be fully isolated. Preliminary assessments suggest that an electrical short circuit may have been the cause, though a detailed technical inspection is still underway. Fire department officials stated that such incidents underline the risks associated with high-power electrical equipment if not adequately maintained and monitored.
