YSRCP MP Y. S. Avinash Reddy has intensified his appeal for accelerating the long-pending Kadapa–Bangalore railway line, describing it as one of the most vital transportation and economic infrastructure projects for Rayalaseema. Raising the issue repeatedly in Parliament and through direct engagements with the Ministry of Railways, he has requested immediate action on pending tasks involving land acquisition, construction pace and funding release.
Avinash Reddy has asserted that the people of Kadapa have waited far too long for this essential rail link and that delay continues to obstruct opportunities for trade, industry, education and employment. He has emphasised that the project must receive national priority given its strategic and developmental significance.
Transformational Impact on Connectivity and Mobility
The proposed railway line is set to drastically reduce travel time between Kadapa and Bangalore, a critical route used by students, professionals, patients and daily commuters. Currently, long road travel and indirect train routes make movement difficult and time-consuming. Once operational, seamless rail access will solve a long-standing connectivity challenge faced by thousands of families across Kadapa and Rayalaseema.
The project will also play a crucial role in enhancing mobility for citizens dependent on the Bengaluru economic corridor, opening better access to education, healthcare and employment.
Driving Industrial and Economic Growth
One of the biggest beneficiaries of the Kadapa–Bangalore railway line will be the Kopparthy Mega Industrial Park, which depends on efficient transport channels for manufacturing logistics, exports and raw-material movement. Industries associated with mining, agriculture, food-processing, and small-scale manufacturing are expected to gain massive logistical advantages from the rail network.
With reduced freight costs and reliable supply chain access, the railway line is expected to attract new investors and strengthen Kadapa’s industrial ecosystem.
Employment and Business Opportunities for Youth
Avinash Reddy has highlighted that the completion of this rail line will generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, support entrepreneurship and encourage start-ups in related sectors. Improved railway connectivity enhances job access for rural youth and helps reverse migration challenges.
The project is also expected to create positive multiplier effects in sectors including real estate, retail and services.
Positioned as a Development Backbone for Rayalaseema
Describing the project as “a backbone for the economic future of Kadapa,” Avinash Reddy has committed to continuing the fight until the railway line becomes operational. He has appealed for transparency in project execution timelines and urged central authorities to ensure that the project does not become stagnant due to bureaucratic delay.
The MP reiterated that infrastructure development must remain above political differences and must be implemented with urgency in public interest.
