YS Avinash Reddy chaired the District Development Coordination and Supervision Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Kadapa Collector’s Office, reviewing the implementation of various central government schemes and development initiatives across Kadapa district.
The meeting served as an important platform to evaluate the progress of ongoing projects and assess the performance of departments responsible for executing central schemes related to rural development, housing, employment, health, education, and infrastructure. Shri Reddy emphasized the importance of accountability, coordination, and timely completion of developmental works that directly impact citizens’ welfare.
Participation of Key Officials and Public Representatives
The meeting was attended by District Collector Shri Sridhar, MLAs Shri Akepati Amarnath Reddy and Dr. Dasari Sudha, Kadapa Mayor Shri Suresh Babu, and senior officials from various departments. Together, they discussed the status of flagship programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Jal Jeevan Mission, MGNREGA, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Shri YS Avinash Reddy urged the departments to focus on efficient fund utilization, real-time monitoring, and inter-departmental collaboration to ensure projects are executed within stipulated timelines. He also stressed the need for data transparency and periodic field assessments to measure on-ground progress.
Strengthening Grassroots Implementation and Monitoring
Addressing the officials, Shri Avinash Reddy reiterated that the success of welfare schemes depends on their reach at the grassroots level. He called for consistent monitoring, greater coordination with panchayats, and a people-centric approach to governance.
“Development is meaningful only when it reaches the last household in every village,” Shri Reddy stated, urging departments to prioritize inclusivity and sustainability in every initiative. He also encouraged the use of digital monitoring tools and citizen feedback mechanisms to ensure efficiency in delivery.
The MP appreciated departments that have made notable progress in implementing schemes and urged others to identify bottlenecks and adopt innovative approaches for better outcomes. He reaffirmed his support to the district administration and promised to extend all necessary assistance from the Centre and State to fast-track priority projects.
Emphasis on Transparency and Public Accountability
Transparency in governance remained a major focus during the review. Shri Reddy directed officials to maintain open communication with citizens and local bodies, ensuring clarity in the execution and benefits of each government scheme. He also encouraged greater involvement of local representatives to strengthen community ownership of public initiatives.
During the meeting, several departments presented progress reports, and Shri Reddy offered constructive feedback on improving project delivery. He stressed that developmental success in Kadapa should serve as a model for other districts, built on accountability, efficiency, and public trust.
Interaction with Party Leaders and Activists
Earlier in the day, Shri Avinash Reddy met with YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders and activists at the party office. The interaction revolved around local development priorities, organizational strengthening, and the role of party workers in connecting government welfare schemes to beneficiaries.
He appreciated the dedication of YSRCP cadre, who continue to engage directly with citizens at the grassroots level. Their consistent presence in local communities, he said, helps bridge the gap between government policy and public impact.
Commitment to Kadapa’s Growth and Citizen Welfare
Shri Avinash Reddy reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to the holistic development of Kadapa district. From expanding social welfare schemes to improving infrastructure, health facilities, and education systems, his approach remains centered on empowering people through effective governance.
He highlighted that sustained collaboration between elected representatives, bureaucrats, and citizens is essential for long-term growth. Kadapa, he noted, is witnessing steady progress through coordinated planning, transparent implementation, and community participation.
The DISHA meeting concluded with a shared resolution among the participants to continue strengthening governance mechanisms and accelerate the completion of development projects across the district. The focus remains clear to ensure that every policy decision translates into tangible, positive change for the people of Kadapa.
