YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has launched a state-wide campaign to collect one crore signatures demanding rollback of medical college privatization in Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan Mohan Reddy led protests in Narsipatnam, Anakapalli district, highlighting the failures of the TDP government in ensuring affordable medical education and protecting public healthcare.
The signature campaign, ongoing across 175 constituencies, will continue until November 22, with rallies at constituency and district levels. The collected signatures will be submitted to the Governor on November 25, marking a unified call to protect healthcare and education for all.
Party leaders stress that privatization will make medical education expensive and unaffordable for poorer students, while the YSRCP government previously prioritized establishing 17 medical colleges, with classes already underway in seven.
This campaign calls on citizens, civil society, and political stakeholders to participate actively, reinforcing the party’s commitment to public health and equitable access to education.
