The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the establishment of a mega data centre by Google subsidiary Raiden Infotech Private Limited in Visakhapatnam. Spanning 480 acres, the project is set to play a pivotal role in transforming the city into an AI-powered smart city.
This initiative forms part of a broader package of projects worth ₹1,27,181 crore, anticipated to generate approximately 78,000 jobs across the state. The Raiden Data Centre alone, with an investment of ₹87,520 crore (fully equity-funded), will be one of three major data centres in the region, including sites at Tarluvada, Adivivaram, and Achyutapuram.
Officials have highlighted that the project marks a significant step in strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s digital infrastructure and positioning Visakhapatnam as a key technology hub in India. The center is expected to attract further technology investments and foster innovation in the state.
