In a major step toward strengthening its industrial and logistics vision, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved a new mega refinery project at Ramayapatnam Port in Nellore district. Through Government Order (GO) No. 180, the state has allocated land and extended key incentives to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to set up this large-scale refinery.

With an investment of ₹96,862 crore and spread across 6,000 acres, the refinery will have a processing capacity of 9–12 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of crude oil. Scheduled for completion by 2029, it stands as one of the largest industrial investments in Andhra Pradesh’s history.

Beyond energy production, this project will transform Ramayapatnam into a strategic hub for logistics and trade. It will catalyze growth in petrochemical and ancillary industries, improve road and rail connectivity, and create thousands of jobs for local youth.

This milestone marks Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a key player in India’s energy and infrastructure development story driving both economic growth and sustainable industrialization.
