YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Launches One-Crore Signature Campaign Against Medical College Privatization

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced a massive statewide campaign to protest against the privatisation of medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh under the TDP-led coalition government.

Speaking at the YSRCP headquarters, Jagan Mohan Reddy accused CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and his administration of “failing on all fronts,” citing rampant corruption, the trade of spurious liquor, and neglect of farmers.

He revealed that the campaign will begin with his visit to Narsipatnam Medical College on October 9, where he will distribute pamphlets and expose the government’s “dubious designs.”
From October 10 to November 6, YSRCP will conduct Rachabanda programmes to collect one crore signatures, followed by constituency-level rallies on October 28, district rallies on November 4, and the submission of signatures to Governor S. Abdul Nazeer on November 12.

Jagan Reddy said, “We ensured transparency in liquor policy and built medical institutions for the poor. The current government, driven by greed, is now dismantling that progress.”

In a humane gesture, Jagan Mohan Reddy also met four fishermen from Kakinada, recently released after being imprisoned in Sri Lanka for 54 days a rescue made possible through YSRCP’s intervention.

This dual focus on fighting corruption and protecting the vulnerable —continues to define Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership in Andhra Pradesh.
