Andhra Pradesh has embarked on an ambitious mission to become a zero-garbage state by January 2025 under the Swachha Andhra initiative.

According to official reports, out of 85 lakh metric tons of accumulated garbage across the state, more than 55 lakh MT have already been cleared. The campaign emphasizes sustainable waste management, citizen participation, and systematic clean-up drives across both urban and rural areas.

The initiative also recognizes the efforts of Swachha Sainiks and local governance teams working tirelessly to maintain cleanliness in towns and cities. Educational drives, green passport programs for students, and monthly Swachha Andhra Days are being observed to sustain public engagement.

This push toward a cleaner Andhra Pradesh marks a milestone in India’s broader vision of a Swachh Bharat and sets a strong example for other states to emulate.
