Latest News Today Live: In a day-long visit to Gujarat, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met party workers in Ahmedabad today. His visit comes days after a clash ensued between Congress and BJP workers outside the Gujarat Congress headquarters in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, purportedly triggered by the MP’s alleged ‘anti-Hindu’ remarks in his Parliament speech. Following the clash, the police arrested five Congress workers on Tuesday. “They have challenged us. We will defeat Modi, BJP in Gujarat just like we did in Ayodhya,” Rahul at the Congress Workers’ Convention today. The statement underscores the Congress’s resolve to challenge the ruling BJP in the upcoming elections. The party managed to win its first Lok Sabha seat in the state for the first time in a decade.

What else is planned for Rahul Gandhi’s day in Gujarat? Following the party meet, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha is also scheduled to meet the family members of those who lost their lives in various tragedies in Gujarat in the recent past, including the Rajkot game zone fire, the boat capsize incident in Vadodara, and the Morbi bridge collapse.

For the first time after Hyderabad ceased to be the common capital for the two states,  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart A Revanth Reddy will meet in Hyderabad today. The meeting is expected to be about resolving pending issues related to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Several issues such as the division of assets, state-run institutions, power bill dues, and the transfer of leftover employees to their native states remain unresolved even 10 years after the bifurcation.
