The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed into the Patapsco River, plunging seven individuals and multiple vehicles into the water.
On Tuesday morning, March 26, just before 1:30 am, a shocking video captured a container ship striking and partially crumbling a Baltimore bridge. The bridge, known as the Francis Scott Key Bridge, measures 3 kilometers long and forms part of the I-95 interstate. This interstate is the primary north-south highway on the east coast of the US, stretching from Miami, Florida, all the way up to Maine.
Around 1:30 a.m., a large vessel crashed into the bridge, catching on fire before sinking and causing multiple vehicles to fall into the water below, according to a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “All lanes closed in both directions for the incident on I-695 Key Bridge. Traffic is being detoured,” the Maryland Transportation Authority posted on X.
