BJP, Jana Sena, TDP Finalize Seat-Sharing Agreement for Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Jana Sena have reportedly finalized a seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.

In a significant development, sources indicate that the BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena have reached a consensus on a seat-sharing formula ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh assembly polls. The agreement underscores a strategic alliance among the three parties to maximize their electoral prospects in the state.

The finalized deal, which was reportedly concluded around midnight on Friday, entails the allocation of seats among the alliance partners. As per the arrangement, the Jana Sena and BJP are expected to contest nearly eight Lok Sabha seats out of the total 24, while for the Andhra Pradesh assembly, they are likely to secure between 28 and 32 seats combined.

On the other hand, the TDP is slated to receive the remaining assembly seats, consolidating its position within the alliance framework. With Andhra Pradesh comprising 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly constituencies, the seat-sharing agreement holds significant implications for the upcoming electoral landscape.

In light of these developments, TDP senior leader Kinjarapu Atchannaidu confirmed that preliminary discussions among the alliance partners have concluded, paving the way for joint electoral campaigns. He further stated that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu will soon engage in discussions with BJP leaders to finalize the distribution of seats.

Earlier discussions held between TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP chief J.P. Nadda laid the groundwork for the alliance’s strategic planning. The deliberations, which included Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan, aimed to establish a cohesive electoral strategy for the upcoming polls.

The seat-sharing arrangement reflects a balance of interests and strategic considerations among the alliance partners, ensuring equitable representation and cohesive electoral campaigning.

Moreover, the BJP’s acceptance of Naidu’s proposal on seat sharing, which allocates 30 assembly and 8 Lok Sabha seats to the partners, signifies a collaborative effort to foster unity and effective vote transfer among the alliance constituents.
