Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh: Pramod Yadav, a prominent BJP leader and district unit president of BJP Kisan Morcha, was tragically shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jaunpur district. The incident occurred near Bodhpur village turn under the Sikarara police station area.
According to police reports, the assailants stopped Yadav under the guise of delivering a card and subsequently fired three shots at him. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Yadav was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Jaunpur Superintendent of Police, Ajaipal Sharma, has confirmed the deployment of several teams to track down the assailants. Initial investigations have yielded significant leads, and further probes are ongoing.
Yadav, who contested the 2012 assembly elections from the Malhani seat against Jagriti Singh, wife of former MP Dhananjay Singh, was a well-known figure in the region. The unfortunate incident comes amidst recent developments involving Dhananjay Singh, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in a 2020 kidnapping and extortion case.
