Jeff Bezos, the guy who started Amazon, is now the richest person in the world again, beating Elon Musk, the Tesla guy. Bezos has around $200 billion, while Musk has about $198 billion. In the last year, Musk lost about $31 billion, and Bezos gained $23 billion. Tesla’s shares dropped by more than 7% on Monday, which might have contributed to Musk’s loss.
In January 2021, Musk toppled Bezos to become the richest person in the world, with a net worth of USD 195 billion. Two years later in May 2023, Musk had dethroned tycoon Bernard Arnault, the chief executive of luxury brand Louis Vuitton’s parent company LVMH, to reclaim the title of the richest person in the world.
Now, Arnault is the third richest with $197 billion, followed by Mark Zuckerberg, who runs Meta (formerly Facebook), with $179 billion, and Bill Gates, who co-founded Microsoft, with $150 billion. Also, there are these two guys from India, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, who are in 11th and 12th place. Ambani has $115 billion, and Adani has $104 billion. They’re both big in industries in India.
