BJP Demands Action Against DMK MP A Raja for Controversial Remarks on India

A fresh controversy has erupted as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demands action against DMK MP A Raja for his recent remarks questioning the idea of India and allegedly deriding Lord Ram. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a video of Raja’s speech in Tamil, accompanied by an English translation, where Raja purportedly called for the “balkanisation of India.”

Raja’s speech comes on the heels of critical observations made by the Supreme Court against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over his remarks on ‘Sanatan Dharma.’ Malviya condemned Raja’s speech, alleging that it undermines the unity and integrity of India.

In his speech, Raja reportedly stated, “India is not a nation but a subcontinent,” emphasizing the diversity of languages, traditions, and cultures across different regions. He also allegedly made disparaging comments about Lord Ram and questioned the significance of certain cultural practices.

BJP has slammed Raja’s remarks, with Union Minister Anurag Thakur accusing him of being part of the “tukde-tukde gang” and undermining Indian culture. The chief priest of Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi temple, Ramesh Das, also condemned Raja’s comments, vowing to write to the Prime Minister and President about the matter.

As the controversy escalates, calls for action against Raja intensify, highlighting the delicate balance between freedom of speech and maintaining national unity in India’s political discourse.
