U.S. will begin airdropping humanitarian aid into Gaza
US President Joe Biden will begin airdropping humanitarian goods into Gaza following the revelation that more than 100 Palestinians were murdered in a violent clash with Israeli forces. According to Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry, at least 115 Palestinians were killed and another 750 were injured. Biden stated that the US airdrop will take place in the coming days, but provided no other details. Other nations, notably Jordan and France, have also airdropped assistance into Gaza. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, one-quarter of the enclave's population is just one step away from starvation. Administration officials said their preference was to further increase overland aid deliveries through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom border points and to try to get Israel to open the Erez Crossing into northern Gaza.
