TDP leader’s son arrested for ‘money laundering’

In Vijayawada, the Machavaram police apprehended Sharath Prathipati, son of former agriculture minister and prominent TDP leader Prathipati Pulla Rao, on Thursday. The arrest stems from allegations of money laundering, GST evasion, and other irregularities. The Andhra Pradesh State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (APSDRI) received a complaint regarding Avexa Corporation Private Limited, alleging various malpractices including tax evasion and fraudulent financial transactions. Subsequently, Machavaram police registered a case under IPC Sections 420, 409, 467, 471, 477(A), and 120 B against seven individuals. Following an investigation, APSDRI confirmed the allegations, prompting action from the NTR district commissioner of police Kanthi Rana Tata. Sharath, along with his mother, uncle, and four others from the company, was named in the First Information Report (FIR) and taken into police custody for questioning and further legal proceedings. #politicalgossip
