Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Kumar Pandey has resigned from his position as Chief Whip in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly amid the ongoing Rajya Sabha polls. His decision comes shortly after eight SP MLAs skipped a crucial meeting called by party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Today's voting for the 10 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh features eight candidates from the BJP and three from the SP. While both parties have enough support to secure seven and three seats respectively, the inclusion of an eighth BJP candidate sets the stage for a closely contested election for the remaining seat. The voting process is scheduled to conclude at 4 pm, with counting set to begin at 5 pm. In the 403-member state assembly, the BJP holds 252 seats, followed by the SP with 108 seats, while the Congress holds 2 seats. The outcome of these elections holds significant implications for the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh and the representation of various parties in the Rajya Sabha. #politicalgossip
